The development planning leads in strategic planning, efficient integration and implementation of public policies and programmes in achieving sustainable economic growth and development.

Functions
Provide the needed technical advice to the Municipal Assembly in its Planning, monitoring, evaluation and coordination function.
Coordinates all planning activities of the sector departments, sub-districts and agencies connected with municipal development.
Collate and harmonize all sector departments, sub-districts and agencies programme and projects into Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP).
Maintain database on the municipal development process, activities, project and programmes.
Develop consolidated annual action plan and budget out of the MTDP.
Responsible to pool all efforts connected with Municipal development to compose undefiled framework to give a complete view of all implementation strategies.
Responsible for organizing town hall meetings or SPEFA fora within the Municipality.
