The Abokobi-Boi road project is fast progressing following commencement on Monday, 8th January, 2024.
The 6.3km-road project stretches from the Boi Junction and through Akporman and Boi to Adjangote and connects the Dome-Kitase road at Comets Estates.
The scope of the project includes 1.2m and 0.90m drainage works, 1.2m culverts, earth works comprising gravels, sub-base and base, and road works which entails cealing; primer and first seal (bitumenous surface).
Archadwo Company Limited is the contractor for the project which is being executed by the Department of Feeder Roads under the Ministry of Roads and Highways, scheduled to be completed within three (3) months.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, inspecting the project on Tuesday, 9th March, 2024, said she was absolutely happy to see the project start.
"This is one of the roads very dear to my heart. Since I assumed office, I have held several stakeholder-community engagements here at Akporman and Boi and their priority need has always being the road, so I'm very happy to see it start and I believe it will be completed within schedule", she remarked.
She appealed to residents, commuters, motorists and business operators along the stretch to exercise patience and cooperate with the Contractor to ensure a successful execution of the project.
"I am appealing to all affected by this project to bear with us any inconvenience caused and the end benefit and cooperate for it to be done on schedule", she said.
Two (2) members of the Executive of the Paradise City Residents' Association in Akporman, Apostle Vincent N. K. Mante (Chairman) and EX WO1 Mustafa Sulley (Vice Chairman), who joined the Hon. MCE on the inspection tour praised the Government and the Assembly for the project.
They promised to help ensure that the Contractor work without any hindrance from the residents and motorists.
The Assembly detailed its Information Van to carry out announcement in the communities to create awareness on the project and seek the cooperation and support of the residents
