- MCE Advocates inovative approaches to enhance revenue mobilization
The Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA) has for the third time running hosted a zonal Regional Budget Hearing.
The Regional Budget Hearings are organized by the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (GARCC) to coordinate the various Composite and Action Plans of the Assemblies to feed into the national fiscal and development planning for each year.
On Thursday, 12th October, 2023, the Ga East Municipal Assembly hosted Adentan and Ayawaso Municipal Assemblies in the Zone five (5) of the Regional Budget Hearings at Abokobi.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA), Hon. Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, welcomed the sister-Assemblies and urged them to learn from each other during the presentations and discussions to ensure a holistic development of the Region.
She charged the Assemblies to be innovative in their approach to speedily advance their Municipalities and improve upon their performances and service delivery.
The Regional Budget Analyst, Mr. Sammy Lee Simpiney, advised the three (3) Assemblies to go according to the guidelines for the preparation of their composite budgets and action plans to conform with the national development policy framework.
The Assemblies took turns to make presentations on their 2024 Composite Budget and Action Plan, with Ga East setting the ball rolling followed by Ayawaso and Adentan.
The Regional Budget Analyst led the discussions and assessment of the presentations.
There were representatives from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentration, and Rural Development and Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.
