GA EAST MCE HANDS OVER 792 DUAL DESKS PROCURED FROM IGF TO EDUCATION DIRECTORATE FOR ONWARD DISTRIBUTION TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE MUNICIPALITY

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA), Hon. Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, as presented 792 dual desks to the Education Directorate to be distributed to public basic schools in the Municipality.

The dual desks, procured through the Assembly's Internally General Fund (IGF), were presented to the Municipal Education Directorate on Tuesday, 28th March, 2023, at premises of the Municipal Assembly at Abokobi, by the Hon. MCE.

This is the third time dual desks were being given to the schools since Hon. Kaakie Mann's assumption of office in less than two years, bringing to 1,105, the total number distributed so far excluding other items like staff desks and chairs, cupboards, bookshelves among others.

Hon. Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, during the presentation, reiterated government's commitment towards providing adequate infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning, indicating that the Assembly would continue to liaise with the Education Directorate to promote quality, accessible education in the Municipality.

He charged the Directorate to prioritize the schools in dire need in the distribution.

The Municipal Director of Education (MDE), Mr Eric Sey, expressed utmost gratitude to the Hon. MCE for the move and pledged to ensure the items get to the appropriate schools.

He further intimated their commitment to improving teaching and learning through rigorous monitoring to raise the performance in the BECE as the Municipality has dropped in recent results.

The presentation was witnessed by officials from the Assembly and Education Including the Municipal Coordinating Director MCD Mr Emmanuel Kwame Kungi, as well as the General Secretary of the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Theophilus Ansah Larbi.
