The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA), Hon. Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, has reassured Staff on Internally Generated Fund (IGF) payroll of her commitment towards enhancing their conditions of work and welfare to enable them to do more for the advancement of the Assembly.
She made this remark at a Staff Durbar held on Friday, 28th July 2023 at the premises of the Assembly at Abokobi.
Hon. Kaakie Mann observed that the salaries of the IGF Staff were not encouraging when she took office in October 2021, hence increased it by 20% in the first year of her administration and promised to do more for them before the end of her second year.
“I know salary increment has been one thing you continuously talk about, and I perfectly understand what most of you are going through. Due to this, we have taken the initiative to increase your salaries once again even though I have done one already since I came to office”, she stated.
The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Nii-Armah Ashitey, who was meeting the Staff at such a gathering barely a month after assuming duty, expressed his profound gratitude to the Hon. MCE for her acceptance to work with him.
He made it known that he had come to effectively with the Staff of the Assembly and to make sure that all needs for good service delivery are met.
“It is an honor to work with you Hon. MCE and the Ga East Municipal Assembly as it is the second largest Municipality in the Greater Accra Region. I am here to support you in any way possible and make sure that all your needs are gradually met with the help of the HR”, he remarked.
He stressed on the need for the Staff to be punctual and report to duty within the stimulated time of 8am to 9am, indicating that stringent measures were being put in place by Management to check same.
The Human Resource Manager, Marianne Aba Abraham, made a presentation on Code of Conduct, and Service Delivery Standards of the Local Government Service (LGS).
She highlighted the Performance Appraisal report, leave application and dos and don'ts while at work, either in-house or on the field.
The Staff were given opportunity to ask questions, give comments or suggestions.
