- State Agencies urged to help Consolidate Plans of the Assembly to Facilitate Holistic and Improved Development
The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) for the Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA), Mr. Nii-Amarh Ashitey, has underscored the need for State agencies and institutions in the Municipality to collaborate with the Assembly to ensure the desired, unified development is delivered to the people.
He made this call at a mid-year review meeting for the various State agencies within the Ga East Municipality at Abokobi on Thursday, 20th July 2023.
The mid-year review which is mandatory for all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) forms part of the activities of the Planning Unit and seeks to ensure a coordinated approach to development planning through stakeholder-engagements with decentralized and non-decentralized Departments, State Agencies, and Public Corporations within the Municipality.
The participants at the meeting included Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Community Water Schemes, Transport Unions, Traditional and Religious Leaders, Assembly Mbers and Staff.
Addressing the participants, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Nii-Amarh Ashitey, observed that often than not, some of the State Agencies fail to collaborate with the Assembly on their activities leading to uncoordinated development.
